Haematology training of laboratory staff

We could not have developed the project without volunteers. Renata Horáková, head of the morphology-cytology laboratory at the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Prague, decided to spend her "regular vacation" working. She moved to the laboratory in Buikwe, where she trains staff in the evaluation of haematological specimens.

Renata is now a full member of the laboratory for two weeks. Each day starts with blood draws, followed by blood counts, biochemical tests, preparation of haematology slides and microscopic evaluation. Hematology training is continuously conducted every afternoon and methodological procedures and work processes will be fine-tuned.
